“Coach Tracy has revolutionized my running and opened new horizons for what I can achieve, enabling me to go faster and longer with less effort. Tracy challenges your assumptions and broadens your understanding of movement and speed, training your mind as much he trains your body.”
- Ultrarunner Jason Rita: 2010 Leadville 100 Mile Trail Run & Mtn Bike Finisher (3rd overall “Leadman”); 2nd Place overall Iroquois 100 Ultramarathon; 1st Place Canada Death Race (AG M30-40); 1st Place (Masters), Triple Crown Trail Marathon

Current running form, even amongst elite athletes, is inefficient (when evaluated against a gravity-based model of movement). The pictured athlete is taking excess time during ground contact, which requires additional muscular contractions to hold support, and to arrive at a position where movement can actually take place. Accordingly, the athlete engages in movement patterns that waste time and energy, with a high cost in O2 & ATP/unit speed
The most efficient movement comes from the body being a vector for environmental (gravity, ground reaction) and inherent (muscular elasticity, neuromuscular activation) forces, rather than acting as a force-generator. Movements that are most efficient allow for the total expression of movement potential – speed, power – utilizing the fullest physiological capacities within us.

By understanding the true source of efficiency and movement, Tracy is able quickly to alter an athlete’s perception of their form, leading to radical improvements in speed, and eliminating pain or injury compensations. See the videos (right) for a one session improvement in running and speed.
